Another Italian mixer with a lot of potential could be Chinotto – it is another bitter non-alcoholic Italian soft drink which doesn’t have so much sugar as crodino, in fact its like very bitter coca cola if that makes sense! I thought that the addition of sugar syrup would be unnecessary and wanted to make it more Italian, so I subbed the gin for Grappa. Ingredients: Water, Sugar, Flavours, Carbon Dioxide, Acidificat: Citric Acid, Sodium Chloride, Colourants: E150b, E110. It gets its name from Crodo, the area in north-west Predmont where the product has been bottled since 1964.

Inspired by the fact that the sweetness in the Crodino needs a little taming, I added Campari to the mix.
