But I'll do it if it will help you help me get this monitor to where it should be (due to variances of panels, etc.) Colors The most important variable when it comes to buying an IPS monitor. Winner=MSI MAG 251rx by a MILE.

The selection of ports here is great as well. There’s a USB-C port, DisplayPort, two HDMI ports, audio, USB Type-B, and three downstream USB Type-A ports. The availability of upstream ports here is extremely useful when you have a multi-computer setup. I was able to connect it to a gaming PC and a MacBook Pro at the same time so I could test its gaming performance and do other work on my laptop without unplugging either. As a bonus, the USB-C port could charge my MacBook Pro, so that’s one less cable to worry about. I have a dell p2217h IPS monitor (60hz) and comparing with my vg259qm, after tweaking my vg259qm, the colors look much nicer compared to my Dell. Maybe because i did not bother to tweak my dell colors as its just a work monitor. The dell has a slight bluish tint to it and my vg259qm looks white with no grainy effect at all. The next degree of freedom is given directly by the support mechanism, which allows us to adjust its vertical orientation. Also I notice there is a noticeable difference with input lag when I turn off adaptive sync and using the fastest response time setting on consoles. I ended up leaving adaptive sync on because the tearing/judder wasn’t worth the lower input lag while playing modern warfare. While the MSI MAG251RX offers an enjoyable fast-paced gaming experience, there are better 240Hz models available at this price range. Specifications Screen Size

MSI knows how to choose quality panels, as the 240Hz displays of the new generation of notebooks are similar. When playing more demanding games and your FPS sits around ~100-180FPS, the ‘Fast’ preset will work better as there will be less pixel overshoot. I play CoD Modern Warfare 2019 and I have avg fps 160, i do not use 280hz because of the slowest response time. This time we have screenshots of the test in normal, fast, fastest response modes, and a quarter without using FreeSync. Also its the same exact panel as the aw2521hf, vg259qm, and acer predator xb253q gx. Except the msi in my opinion has the best OD tuning since the blue coronas are basically inivisible. The only time i saw them was occasional blue flashes every 2% of the time.. But 98% of the time it wont flash Response time and frequency make both ghostings and blurring virtually nil, and image definition are substantially improved even with highly detailed scenarios.

I bought my Mag251rx for console gaming connected to my PS4pro with the hdmi cable that came with the PS4pro. Is the hdmi cable that came with the Mag251rx better to use than the one the PS4pro came with? And biggest issue so far is that even on minimum brightness monitor is too bright. Can somebody post monitor setings I have everything on default, expect brightness which is on "0". it's a 4 way tie (AW2521hf, MAG251rx, Asus vg279qm/vg259qm, acer predator xb253q gx) or any AHVA IPS monitor I also tested it on the UFO test, and found zero to very minimal blurring, ghosting or any other artifacts. If there were any, they would have been hardly perceptible to the human eye… or at least, this human eye.

What's your opinion about using 270HZ instead of 280Hz? Maybe it will be best compromise with 80 OD (better response time which I believe should be top1 to focus in competive fps games). the colors are the worst that i've ever seen on an IPS paneel and is dead last among the other 240hz monitors. The common factor in all of them is that we have not detected ghosting in this panel, seeing a perfectly defined image, which if it weren’t for the blur that the camera introduces, it would be perfect. MSI Optix MAG251rx (3ms) little to no overshoot(only in early transitions which is NOT noticeable at 240hz.
