Description
Megatron—This Super Rare character first appeared in the "Beast Wars: Episode 1" event, and could be recruited by collecting 250 units of Cybermetal, 75 units of Transmetal, 35 event cores, and 10 cores of this character. Transmetals toys are infamous for their chrome finishes becoming tarnished or flaking off, in some cases not long after they've been opened. There is seemingly no pattern to what causes this decay or its rate of severity, although it seems more prominent in some figures (such as Transmetal Rattrap) than others. Due to this, it is somewhat difficult to find Transmetal figures with perfectly intact chromed parts. The Hasbro release of this figure was in gold, dark brown, and silver. The Hasbro release is known for being remarkably fragile — the deep brown plastic used for Megatron's waist and torso is prone to eventual breakage due to stress fractures. This has often been mistaken for a form of Gold Plastic Syndrome, but is really more of a design flaw coupled with weak plastics. The Takara version, which used a different plastic, does not have this problem. The Hasbro version had three different variants all based on the shade used for the transmetal parts, some were pink, some purple and others a darker blue purple.
Megatron's wings don't look organic, neither do the parts sculpted into his legs and I'm sure the tail will have a lot of mechanical details, too. I really like it, it feels more cohesive than the original and I wont miss the car mode at all since vehicle modes weren't really a TMII feature, I prefer keeping it unique to Optimal Optimus. I can easily see how they'd remake him as Beast Machines Megatron if that's an option, just swap the wings and head. It would be kinda fitting if he was repainted into Prime Predaking considering how the other Prime figures turned out. Whether this toy can be considered the Beast Wars Megatron character as seen in the primary fiction is a matter of debate. Released before the beginning of the animated series, which established Megatron as a separate entity from Generation 1 Megatron, the accompanying profiles and mini-comic imply the Beast Wars to be a direct progression of the Autobot/Decepticon war. Tigerhawk awoke to find himself a captive in Tarantulas's lair. The spider attempted to destroy Tigerhawk's mind by forcefully removing the Vok presence inhabiting it. Due to a fluke coincidence, Tarantulas only succeeded in destroying himself, alongside the Vok who had controlled Tigerhawk. The Sparks of Airazor and Tigatron, which followed Tigerhawk to Earth, merged to become one and entered Tigerhawk's body.Skullgrin: They got the head right, seemingly. But beyond that, it's no Pretender. I'll be interested in seeing the alt mode. Definitely looks like he'll be a tank of some kind. Entertainment News International (ENI) is the #1 popular culture network for adult fans all around the world. Megatron rebooted in time to meet the totality of the Children of the Vok in battle, facing off against Armordillo and Snarl before the Vok arrived. Deeming all Cybertronians too disruptive, the Vok prepared to kill them all via their reversion device. As the superweapon built up its charge, the Vok were fired on by the Axalon, now firing unspace beams which dissipated the energy beings. Considering the truce over, Megatron lunged at Primal only to be fired on by the unspace weapon. One day, Megatron and the other Predacons watched from the Darksyde 's internal surveillance system as Skold befriended and subsequently beheaded their Maximal prisoner Powerhug. Skold's No Good, Very Bad Day Ultra: Optimus & Megatron - probable release date - June 2001 (these are new additions to the list - I don't know if they will replace the 2 megas or if they are in addition to them, but these 2 along with the 4 deluxe will be the initial release"— BigBadToyStore, 2000/12/06(archive link) Known designers: John Warden (Hasbro), Takashi Kunihiro (TakaraTomy), Ken Christiansen (concept artist) [7]Similar to Transmetal 2 Megatron, Tigerhawk features an aborted and undocumented vehicular "third mode", which involves flipping him over to utilize the otherwise unexplained wheels on top of his wings and facing his cannon arm forward. The box and instructions opt to call the deployment of his vacuum-metalized bird helmet (or "Targeting Computer Battle Visor") over his beast tiger head a third mode instead. The battle is evolving with the Transformers Legacy Evolution Transmetal II Megatron action figure! After fusing his spark with his namesake’s and being thrown into a volcano, Megatron emerges more powerful than ever with a new dragon alt mode.
