Activity date: 01 Jun 2008 Location: Fakenham Come and join us at Pensthorpe, the beautiful nature reserve in Norfolk. Now owned by Jordans (the cereal company who make muesli, crunchy bars etc) Pensthorpe caters for a wide range of interests. For bird watchers there are a number of habitats, lakes, meadows, woodland and the lovely River Wensum meandering through.Gardeners will love the designs of Julie Toll and Piet Oudolf. For "retail therapy" visit the gift shop for decorative household items as well as books and other equipment for the naturalists.I'm sure everyone will look forward to the refreshments in the cafe.Meet in the car-park at 11am,Sunday 1st June.Admission is £7.50 (seniors £6.00),but I have a couple of "2 for1" vouchers, which we can use to reduce the fee.The location is Pensthorpe,Fakenham,Norfolk NR21 0LN (about half-way between Kings Lynn and Cromer,on the A148) Please go to www.pensthorpe.com for more details and pictures.

Would have definitely been there, but I've booked to go on a trip to Peak District that day. Why do dates always clash? If you organise this again Gerry please let me know.

That's a shame Jennifer that the dates clash, would have been nice to see you again. Hope you enjoy the Peak district, beautiful scenery.

Come on fellow Off'ers...Gerry has gone to the trouble of organising this activity for our benefit..Make an effort and join in......PLEASE.

Wish I could come - too far I'm afraid. BBC's Spring Watch is being filmed from there this year. I saw the marshes last night on the TV - It looks like a fabulous place. Have a lovely time everyone. Kathyb

Having looked back through the events at Pensthorpe I find that this weekend is a Gardening and Food Fair.Bring along your spare cash to restock your larder or backyard! As many of us will be travelling some distance to Fakenham,I suggest we head straight to the restaurant for some refreshment, after meeting in the car-park.

I'd be interested to hear what you all thought of the day, it sounds lovely and just up my street. I wish I lived a bit nearer so that I could join you!

Thanks for coming along everyone! I think we formed a small, but very select, group and I enjoyed your company in such beautiful surroundings. Ironically the sun broke through eventually when I was just a few miles from home!Oh well, such is British weather-I should be used to it at my age!
