This site is a community for
over fifties, or "silver surfers" as this category of Internet users has become known, to get together and make new friends. Although we do list some
external events for
over 50s, the main idea of the site is for the members to be responsible for the activities. We suggest that if you
create an activity, you exercise vigilance before going ahead with the meet in real life. Make sure that there are several people coming along and only give your contact details out to someone when you feel you can trust them. Do so only in private messages, not in a
public forum.
You can enter key words such as "singles holidays", "golf for
over 50s", "
seniors events" and so on, or you can choose to search by location. The members of the site have created
activities of all kinds, from theatre trips, meals out and museum visits to dog racing and Fawlty Towers tributes!
So make sure you use Overfiftiesfriends.co.uk to its full potential. The small
membership fee for Full membership goes a long way (and 10% goes all the way to Macmillan Cancer Support). We also have
