WHO ARE WE?
Overfiftiesfriends.co.uk is run by mother and son Sue and Miles Avison, from Rugby in the UK.
Sue is an active over 50, whilst son Miles is an almost-as-active 31 year-old, now based in Stockholm, Sweden. The partnership works well, and the distance certainly helps! Both Sue and Miles work for themselves, in the furniture and language businesses respectively. Sue had the vision for the site and understands the over 50s and Miles was able to help her make it a reality. Their vision is for Overfiftiesfriends.co.uk to become the best UK community for over fifties looking for friendship and activities. Simple, and so far, effective!

Age: 59Star sign: Gemini Profession: Manufacturers' Agent selling furniture to the retail trade Likes: Food and drink! A really good laugh. People who make me laugh! Golf, trekking and theatre, watching and taking part. I played a mean Mrs. Slocombe, (Are You Being Served) though it wasn't my most glamorous moment! Dislikes: Violence and bigotry. Cleaning and housework. Sees herself in 5 years: Hopefully having given up dashing up and down the roads of the Midlands selling furniture, to concentrate on running overfiftiesfriends. Grandchild(ren) (up to you and you alone Miles). Healthy and still golfing and trekking. Favourite holiday destination: Trekking in the Kumbu region of the Himalays (the Everest bit). See Everest and die! Love the lots of times I've been to Stockholm.

Age: 31 Star sign: Scorpio Likes: All sorts! Eating, drinking and dancing with good friends. Snowboarding and painting. Singing and seeing live bands. Travelling and meeting new people. Also love a good laugh of course...
Dislikes: Corruption and war. Impolite people! Not a lot else really!
Sees himself in 5 years: Maybe back in England. Maybe a little more succesful. Maybe with some of my art in various galleries! As happy as I am now. Could also consider those grandchildren mum mentions, but can't make them aaaall on my own!
Favourite holiday destination: That I have been to so far; French Alps. That I am planning to go to; Banff in the Canadian Rockies. Could do New York again too.
